In recent years I have been teaching oil painting classes at my studio in Clontarf. My aim is to pass on techniques, knowledge and experience I have learned over 35 years working as a professional artist. This includes information on materials, planning and composition, using colour - right through to advice on varnishing and framing. I have a wide range of expertise in different genres of painting, including portraiture and figures, landscape and still life. I consult with each artist individually and encourage both creativity and technical excellence.This is done through one to one tuition and demonstration. Everyone works on their own painting project and I welcome both beginners and advanced artists. Classes now take place both mornings & evenings. Students attend once a week. Tuition is for oil painting only and very relaxed and informal. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. Some of my past students have gone on to professional art careers, while all have enjoyed the pleasures of painting with oils. |
